Base dance have been commissioned by Community Dance Wales to choreograph a large scale performance work for 6 experienced dance practitioners. The work will then be used as inspiration for six youth groups to create their own performance work.
In February 2008 all the performance material will be fused together by base dance creating a full length performance which will tour around Wales.
A short 5 minute film looking at the ‘cold hearted’ animalistic instinct of hunting and gathering. This film was shot in night vision and was created during a dance for film course in May 2007. Supported by Welsh Independent Dance and Widelode.

An armchair is a man’s castle. Three men push the boundaries in a physical game of power. They risk all to be rewarded with a comfy seat.

This 10 minute ‘taster’ of dance and animation using MAX MPS computer software, ‘live’ cameras and projection as the main source of light was created during FACETS 2006, an international dance and technology choreographic lab based in Bangalore, India.

LIVE - Batteries Not Included - Base dance are currently working towards the creation of a full length performance work. The piece will integrate interactive technologies with powerful and energetic choreography whilst tackling the themes of the psychology of Cyberspace, personal privacy and information transference.
FILM – Kitchen Dances – An interactive installation work which is based on lots of short films of people dancing in their own kitchen. It’s an exploration of an individual’s use of a space in an untraditional way.
